To qualify for 2 – 10 HBW, we completed an extensive screening process and met strict underwriting guidelines. All 2 – 10 HBW homes are built under the highest quality standards in the industry, and are inspected at critical stages of construction by independent inspectors.
Here’s what 2 – 10 HBW gives our homebuyers:
- 10 full years of structural defect coverage for load-bearing components.
- 2 full years of systems surety coverage against defects in wiring, piping and ductwork in electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilating and mechanical systems.
- 1 full year of surety coverage against defects in workmanship and materials.

In the First Year
We warrant your home for the first year after the close of escrow. Following that period, it is fully covered by the 2 – 10 HBW.
Should you require service in the first year of owning your Westcott home, please call us. We will do our best to schedule a service call at a time that’s convenient for you, during our business hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
In an Emergency
We consider three situations to be emergencies:
- Total loss of heat.
- Total loss of electricity, not caused by a power outage in the area.
- Complete blockage of all plumbing.
During the Primary Walk of your new home, we will provide you with contact information for the subcontractors who will take care of these emergencies at any time.
If you experience an emergency, call the appropriate subcontractor and provide them with your plat name, lot number, address and phone number.
We also ask that you send an email to our warranty department to notify us of your problem, so we can follow up.
Appliances and Manufactured Items
We assign to you all warranties issued by manufacturers of the appliances and equipment installed in your home. There are no additional warranties provided on the following items, which are not covered by the 2 – 10 HBW or Westcott Warranty Services, LLC:
- Range/cook top
- Microwave/exhaust hood
- Garbage Disposal
- Washer and Dryer
You will receive the warranties for these items during your Primary Walk. It’s important to complete all warranty registration processes or warranty cards required by the manufacturers. If you need service, please contact the manufacturer directly.
