From Dream Home Selection to Lasting Relationship
Here is everything you need to know about the process of buying a Westcott home.
Finding your home and community
The process begins with the selection of your new home. We have several communities to choose
from – each with unique features and a character all its own. We’ve carefully planned out each
community so they provide a private place where you can escape the hustle and bustle of daily
life, yet are never far away from the convenient amenities you need.
Options Process
If the home you buy is still in production, you can choose to make several customizations during
the Options process. A Westcott Options Coordinator will provide you all the information you need,
including a list of possible upgrades, deadlines, costs, and access to our online options catalog.
Once you’ve made your selections, you can attend an Options meeting in our Media & Design Center.
From Cabinets to Garage Door Openers, Home Theatre Packages to Security Systems upgrades, the
Options process gives you freedom to give your home a personal touch.
Financing
We want you to get the best possible terms on your loan, so Westcott works with some of the nation’s
leading lenders to help you secure the right financing.
The Building Process
Before your home is truly yours, it has to meet our rigorous standards for quality. At several points
throughout construction, we will perform in-depth inspections and surveys on every part of your home –
from the electrical system to plumbing. During the building process, we’ll keep you informed of your
home’s progress and accompany you to the building site when you wish. At the end of the process, you’ll
perform an Initial Walk-Thru and Quality Check to familiarize yourself with your homes features and
ensure your home is complete. If there’s anything that needs attention, we’ll take care of it. During
the week of your closing date, you’ll perform the final Walkthrough. This is your time to ask questions
and inspect any items that were completed since your Initial Walk Thru.
Closing
Many different factors can affect the exact completion date of your home. However, we know having a
closing date is important in terms of moving and locking in your loan. That’s why we’ll do our best
to give you an accurate closing date as soon as construction reaches a point where weather or other
factors are not likely to drastically alter the construction schedule.
Moving In
It’s the big day. The one you’ve been looking forward to for months. But it can also be stressful.
Our Concierges will help make it as relaxing as possible by helping you with any questions you may
have (such as “where can I find reliable movers?”).
A Lasting Relationship
With Westcott, the customer service doesn’t end when you’re settled in and enjoying your dream home.
We’ll continue to be there to answer your questions and take care of any issues that may arise.
We want you to feel good about your purchase long after it’s completed.
